A new crushing and screening solution, with advanced protection features, has been launched.  The new model restricts noise and dust emissions and enables more sustainable construction operations in cities. It was developed to enable crushing operations in regulated urban areas, while protecting on-site employees and people living nearby.

"Transporting aggregates to a construction site in a city center from a distant quarry is costly, both in terms of energy and time. At the same time, rapid urbanisation pushes crushing operations closer to city centers", says Metso Lokotrack Solutions VP Kimmo Anttila.

The Urban LT96 series is designed for small to mid-sized contractors, crushing and recycling demolished concrete on site. Metso’s Urban solution is also available for the electrically driven LT130E, LT120 and LT106/S models.

The plants combine crushing technology with environmental and safety features, promising a 50% to 60% reduction in noise protection distances.

The built-in environmental features fulfill some of the requirements for complying with regulations for crushing within cities, which assists with obtaining environmental permits for short-term crushing operations.
